Membership
The International Association of Psychosexual Therapists (IAPST) is proud to foster a diverse
community of professionals dedicated to advancing the field of psychosexual therapy. Through
membership, individuals can access cutting-edge research, professional development
opportunities, and a global network of experts committed to promoting sexual health and
wellness. Whether you are an established practitioner, a professional working toward
certification, or a student beginning your journey in the field, IAPST offers membership tiers
designed to support your growth and contribution to the profession.
We offer three distinct membership types:
1. Certified Membership
Certified Members are individuals who are advancing psychosexual therapy as both a
science and profession, meeting specific educational and clinical criteria. Upon
certification, they are granted the title Certified Psychosexual TherapistsTM and may use
the post-nominal letters C-PSTTM after their name. Certified Members enjoy full access
to all IAPST resources, including advanced workshops, research opportunities, and the
ability to present or publish work within the association. They also have the right to vote
and hold office on the Executive Committee.
2. Associate Membership
Associate Members are professionals actively contributing to the advancement of
psychosexual therapy as a science and profession but have not yet met the criteria for
certification through IAPST. Associates enjoy all rights and privileges of the association,
including access to training, workshops, and networking opportunities, but are not
eligible to vote or hold office on the Executive Committee.
3. Student Membership
Student Members are individuals currently enrolled in accredited and recognized
institutions of higher education with a focus on psychosexual therapy or related fields.
Student Members enjoy the rights and privileges of the association, including eligibility to
vote and participate in committees or positions specifically designated for students,
helping them to build connections and develop professionally within the IAPST
community.
